Henry and Simon set out together in the mid 60’s in a band that drew its inspiration from the music of the Beatles and the Beach Boys. They have since had musical success both together and individually throughout their long association. Looking for a theme to base a new project on, Henry and Simon came up with the idea of looking at the many iconic songs of the 60’s – favorite songs they used to play when they were finding their way as a cover band, songs of the many bands they supported at gigs all over the UK before they
became headliners in their own right.
Their new songs are heavily influenced by these past experiences and draw on the sounds and techniques they acquired over many years of writing and singing together. Having decided this, they realized that they would need a name for the project. They chose ‘The Sandles”.
